DISCOVER WATAMU
Watamu is a nice fisherman village located on the Kenyan East Coast, between Mombasa (about 150 km) and Malindi (about 23 km), overlooking the Indian Ocean.
Its beaches are among the most beautiful of all the Kenyan coast.
Small islands stand between the long shore and the ocean. You can walk on the fine white sand, enjoying the beautiful Marine Park.
The Watamu Marine Park, along with the Malindi Marine Park, belongs to the Malindi Nature Reserve and is a truly unspoiled natural paradise, where you can discover an underwater colored world, full of coral and tropical fish.
Inside the Marine Park are now many resorts, often at the Italian management.
HOW TO VISIT
In the village, or nearby, we suggest you visit:

- WATAMU MARINE NATIONAL PARKE (where make snorkeling, birdwatching, swimming with dolphins and tutrles);
- WATAMU TURTLE WATCH (a science center, a shelter for sea turtles);
- KIPEPEO BUTTERFLY PROJECT (a colored butterfly museum);
- 10 km of beaches (Ocean Breeze, Love Island, Watamu Bay, Mida Creek, Watamu Beach, Garoda Beach, Short Beach, Sardinia 2...);

- watching the SOOTING STARS and the SUNSETS of the MIDA CREEK, making birdwatching and the funny vervets (500 meters);
- visiting GEDE, an medieval abandoned Arab city (5 km);
- visiting the ARABUKO SOKOKE FOREST, searching birds, shrews and other rare animals (10 km).
